Following up on my previous post: I was really interested to read in a recent Peter Gabriel interview what THE INCREDIBLE STRING BAND did since it showed another way in which you can get financial help from your fans.
In order to pay for recording sessions at Gabriel's studio, they found 120 fans over the internet who would pay 60£ each to come and attend the making of the album. In addition they filmed everything which gave them material for a web-broadcast and extra exposure. More details about the band here.
