One month is a very long time without playing guitar. Of course, I have been more than busy since we arrived in Singapore a few weeks ago, amongst other things with finding a permanent place to stay (hopefully this is now sorted - fingers crossed). But the truth is that I'd play much more ... if I had a guitar !
Now, I was quite surprised to receive an email from Singapore Airlines following my previous post ... especially since I hadn't contacted them yet (which shows that at least one person there follows LE BLOG DU BARON: one point for them). They apparently contacted Frankfurt and could not find any indication that my guitar got damaged during the flight. Well, thanks for checking but it was fine when I left Paris and unusable once I arrived in Singapore so it does not leave many other options (I'm afraid I"ll have to deduct 5 points here).
I'm stil waiting to see if I will get any decent compensation (there was mention of flight voucher but no idea how much) but in the meantime, I will have to buy a new electro-acoustic guitar since repairing the Takamine is probaby going to cost more.
After looking around, I'm seriously considering getting mysef an Ovation, I always loved their looks and I've been told they sound great plugged in (although probably nowhere close to te Takamine unplugged).
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I'm planning to go down to City Music over the week-end (the offcial representative of Ovation here in Singapore) to strum a few chords. At last a chance to play !!!
