19/12/2006: PLATINUM BLUE CONFIRMS THE HIT POTENTIAL OF "NO EASY WAY"

I have now received the results of the analysis conducted by Platinum Blue (see my previous post here for more details) on "New day rising" and "No easy way" ...

And it looks like Santa Claus is coming early for the Baron this year !

I first opened the link to the results of "New day rising" and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Platinum Blue has given a Hit Grade of 598 for the song.

Not exactly a guaranteed hit but close enough to make me feel that the track has what it takes to appeal to people.

Then to the 2nd song I sent in, "No easy way".

Bingo !

It achieved a Hit Grade of 716 where, as written by Malcom Gladwell in his recent article, "everything above 700 is exceptional".  Talk about a nice Xmas gift.

All I need to do now is have another Xmas punsch and get my head around how to use this in the new Year.

14/11/2006: BARON ZERO ACOUSTIC SET COMING NEAR YOU ... SOMEDAY

For those of you who wonder what I do when I can't sleep after the 2 am baby bottle, here is the list of songs I'm working on for a forthcoming acoustic set:

Yeap, I know, it is like 47 new songs to learn not forgetting that there is a good chance that the audience might be sleeping half way through.

14/07/2006: NO NEED TO BATTLE UP TO GET A FREE WINNERS' CD

Since Friday has turned into music day, I'm pleased to inform the whole world and especially fans of  BARON ZERO that they can win a free CD of the Battle of the Band Online II winners compilation featuring "No easy way" here.

16/06/2006: ONE MORE STEP TOWARDS SUPER-STARDOM

I have really gotten into liking Fridays lately. And this one is turning up to be as enjoyable as last  week's.

First I faxed the contract back to VH1 to feature No Easy Way on their "Best song ever" podcast; and trust me, I will let the world know when and where it is available.

And second, I just receive 50 compilation CD of the "Battle of the Band II" with No easy Way as track No.10. Quite a nice feeling to hold this in my hands but what I'm going to do with all these CDs ?

Anybody got an idea ?

17/02/2006: BACK IN STUDIO ?

The week-end is coming and I'm hoping to put in some serious studio time and start recording a new song.

I hope to be able to post some stuff (at least the guitar parts, maybe also drums if I cannot sleep) next Monday or Tuesday.

In the meantime, if anybody is planning to call during the week-end, let it ring: I will be in the green house at the end of the Parc.

08/02/2006: A LONG WAY TO THE TOP

I should really spend more time in studio and rehearsing. I still want to record a few more songs for the wide-release version of "Follow the Eye" and the way it goes, I start to doubt that I will be ready to give concerts this summer to promote the album.

I will probably end up doing some open mic unplugged sessions again but there is little hope it can really help with the repair of the famly castle's left wing !

Who said it was easy being a rock star ?

They're probably right: it is being a wanna-be rock star which is damn difficult !
