07/01/2014: BARON ZERO NEW EP 'NO EASY WAY' IS NOW AVAILABLE TO BUY

Baron Zero new EP 'No Easy Way' is now available to buy

Finally, every track has been recorded, edited, mixed, EQ'ed, re-mixed, pre-mastered, re-recorded, re-re-mixed, compressed, maximised and mastered (re-re-remixes will have to wait for another day).

Finally, it is available on all your favorite online platforms, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Deezer amongst others. If you can resist the urge to get your hands on it, you can get all the details here.

And in the meantime, you are invited to a party ! A listening party I'm afraid so no free buffet, and no good looking waitresses but you can always make yourself another coffee, press play and leave your comments after the jump.

23/04/2008: WYPLANET PICKS BARON ZERO AS "ARTIST OF THE WEEK"

As far as online presence is concerned, I have a tendency to follow COKE's marketing credo: "always be within arms's reach of your consumers". Meaning that each and every time I stumble onto a new social/music platform I create a band profile and upload a few songs.

Now, I'm obviously not able to activate all of them (even most of them) frequently which sometimes leaves me with a bit of a frustrating feeling. But at the same time, just being present is often enough to reap some benefits and I can only advise musicians who can bare 10 mn a day (creating a profile gets easier everytime as you want to keep a consistent image) to get into the habit.

WYPLANET is still in its beta mode and could do with a bit of a slickier look but they have been nice enough to pick BARON ZERO as one of the feature artists on their home page (and in such a way: "we've gotton a lot of compliments about you so we put you on wyplanet's home page - congratulations!"): check it out here.

Thanks again Lisa !

  7. Fuzz / Fuzzstore
  8. GarageBand
  9. iLike
  10. indabamusic
  11. iTunes
  12. Jamglue
  13. mp3.com

Looking at it, there are quite a few big ones missing (Magnatune, CD Baby, Amazon) and when I have a minute, I'm quite keen to try and use the widget put on line by Brad here to set up my own digital store.

But in the meantime, if anybody has any other suggestion, drop me a line ...

21/06/2007: PICK UP YOUR PHONE, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BARON CALLING

Sherpa

I have now created an account on PhoneSherpa where you can buy Baron Zero phone rings - check it out  here.

But to tell the truth, I'm not completly satisfied with it since 1/ number of ringtones is limited to 4 and I've got so many more and 2/ I wanted to make them all available for free but you need to pay to get this option ...

Paying to give things away for free: seems like a strange logic to me !

So if anybody knows of a better platform, I'm interested.

17/06/2007: BARON ZERO HAS A SOFT SPOT FOR SONGSPOT

Sonific LLC (founded by Gerd Leonhard who, amongst many things, co-wrote the 'Future of Music') announced yesterday the launch of Sonific Music Network - see press release here.

The core of Sonific is Songspot TM, a streaming music widget available for use on blogs, social networks, photo-sharing sites, personal web-pages, and many web2.0 applications (in total 42 platforms to date !).

In addition to the current catalogue of 150,000 songs, independant artists can now upload their music on SMN. Joining is free so there is no reason not to stream your favourite Baron Zero track on your site.

All Baron Zero songs are available on Sonific here.

And what is even more cool: you can get a specific Baron Zero widget to feature on your site.

Come on, you know you want it, get it here !

19/12/2006: PLATINUM BLUE CONFIRMS THE HIT POTENTIAL OF "NO EASY WAY"

Blue-hair-person

I have now received the results of the analysis conducted by Platinum Blue (see my previous post here for more details) on "New day rising" and "No easy way" ...

And it looks like Santa Claus is coming early for the Baron this year !

I first opened the link to the results of "New day rising" and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Platinum Blue has given a Hit Grade of 598 for the song.

Not exactly a guaranteed hit but close enough to make me feel that the track has what it takes to appeal to people.

Platinum_blue_hit_grade_new_day_risingThen to the 2nd song I sent in, "No easy way".

Bingo !

It achieved a Hit Grade of 716 where, as written by Malcom Gladwell in his recent article, "everything above 700 is exceptional".  Talk about a nice Xmas gift.

All I need to do now is have another Xmas punsch and get my head around how to use this in the new Year.
